Can you fellow travellers please give me a little back ground for our trip in May/June this year please? My wife and I would love to drive the trail as we are not sure that at 70+ years of age, we could cycle the whole way. We are looking at the week of the 9th to the 14the June. Will we be able to "wing" it and find accommodation each night on the trail, which would give us a chance to immerse ourselves further, or do we need to plan the whole trip and book ahead? The same applies for restaurants and generally eating? Also we plan to hire a small car in Turku, does anyone have experience with this? John and Christine

If you do want to cycle you could consider hiring an e-bike. I have seen e-bike tours of the archipelago.
Is it possible to do this bike trail in October? Will be in Turku this weekend and this would be great!

We are planning to drive from Helsinki and have 2-3 nights to spend in Turku and the peninsula. Should we spend our nights all in Turku, and visit the archipelago as side-trip, or try to get a hotel/bnb for 1 night in archipelago and 1-2 in Turku?
