The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) released a preliminary report on the devastating Air India crash, which resulted in 260 fatalities, in Ahmedabad on June 12. Key findings include the completion of wreckage site activities and the quarantine of crucial components for further examination.

On June 12, Air India’s Boeing 787-8 aircraft operating flight AI 171 en-route to London Gatwick crashed into a medical hostel complex soon after take-off from Ahmedabad, killing 260 people, including 241 persons who were onboard the plane. One passenger survived the crash.

The Airline Pilots' Association of India has raised serious concerns over the preliminary report into the Air India AI171 crash, alleging bias, lack of transparency, and exclusion of experts. The final investigation report is awaited.
