Another Hindu priest and ISKCON member, Shyam Das Prabhu, has been arrested in Chattogram, Bangladesh, just days after the detention of spiritual leader Chinmoy Krishna Das on sedition charges. India has urged Bangladesh to ensure the protection of its minorities and fair judicial processes.

Radharamn Das, Vice-President and Spokesperson for ISKCON Kolkata, posted on X on Friday, stating, "Another Brahmachari Sri Shyam Das Prabhu was arrested by Chattogram Police today."

Charu Chandra Das Brahmachari, the general secretary of ISKCON Bangladesh, said the monk had been removed from all positions of the organisation.

The Bangladesh government has frozen bank accounts of 17 individuals linked to ISKCON amid tensions surrounding the arrest of Hindu priest Chinmoy Krishna Das, whose account will also be affected.
