Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick said authorities were searching for 23 girls listed as unaccounted for among more than 700 children who were at a summer camp when it was swept by floodwaters.

The death toll from devastating floods in the Texas Hill Country rose to 24 Friday night, officials said, as a the search for more than 20 people missing from a girls summer camp continued through the night.

Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said rescuers are searching for survivors, including 23 girls missing from a Christian camp along the Guadalupe River.
