The Boulder Police Department lifted a mandatory shelter-in-place order that was in place for several hours Monday as SWAT members attempted to negotiate with an armed suspect who ultimately took his own life.

A University of Colorado Boulder emergency alert was issued Monday afternoon asking the public to avoid the area of the Folsom Parking Garage and Champion Center and shelter in place.
