The early signing day action continued on early Wednesday afternoon with an official decision from four-star safety Lagonza Hayward in the 2025 cycle. The 6-foot-1-inch, 200-pound defensive back from Lyons (Georgia) Toombs County chose the Orange and Blue over the Georgia Bulldogs and Tennessee Volunteers at 1:05 p.

Early Signing Day became even sweeter for Billy Napier and Florida football as the Gators flipped 4-star safety Lagonza Hayward from rival Tennessee.

The Peach State star out of Lyons (Ga.) Toombs County considered many programs on the traditional SEC East side of the coin before committing to Tennessee back in July. He backed off of the Vols to kick off the month of December and the battle between in-state Georgia and Florida ramped back up.

Safety Lagonza Hayward was the second-highest-rated prospect in Tennessee's 2025 recruiting class. But he has changed his mind about the Vols.

2025 four-star safety prospect Lagonza Hayward decommitted from Tennessee on Sunday. Hayward committed to the Vols on July 27. He unofficially visited Tennessee on Oct. 12 for the Florida game, and Oct. 19 when the Vols hosted Alabama. The 6-foot-1, 200 pound safety is from Toombs County High School in Lyons, Georgia.

For the second time Wednesday, Auburn football signed a touted recruit who had been rumored to flip their commitment from the Tigers during the early signing period. Safety Anquon Fegans, who is listed as the highest-rated defensive back in Auburn's 2025 class,

Anquon Fegans, a four-star safety out of Thompson High School, is the most recent player to officially join Auburn’s 2024 signing class. Fegans, who has been committed to the Tigers since July 31, officially signed on Wednesday.
