A search is underway in Hillsborough for a suspect after police said an officer was shot in the police department's parking lot Saturday evening.

A person of interest has been interviewed in South San Francisco as police investigate the Saturday incident police say involved the “ambush” of an officer in the Hillsborough Police Department parking lot,

HILLSBOROUGH — Authorities are investigating a reported shooting incident near Hillsborough Town Hall and the adjacent police station on Floribunda Avenue. “We are investigating an officer-involved shooting in our parking lot,” the Hillsborough Police Department posted Saturday evening on social media. “The suspect remains at large.”
