After much ado, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has finally forayed into the EV segment with the launch of Activa E and QC1.

Just ahead of the launch, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has unveiled the much awaited Activa Electric, along with the QC 1 which will go on sale alongside the Activa E in India.

Both the EV models will be manufactured at Honda's Narsapura plant near Bengaluru and will be available with a warranty of 3 years or 50,000 km along with three free services for the first year

Based on the teaser, the Honda Activa electric will have a claimed range of 104 km or more. We can expect the EV to have a 2.5 to 2.8 kWh battery pack. The power from the battery will be utilised by a swingarm-mounted electric motor, a setup very similar to the one seen on Bajaj Chetak and Vida V1.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) is betting big on the Indian electric mobility segment and launched ‘ACTIVA e:’ and ‘QC1’ in the electric vehicle segment nationally during an event in Bengaluru.

The all-new Honda Activa e: comes with a pair of 1.5kWh swappable batteries, which can be swapped out at Honda’s Power Pack Exchanger e: battery swapping stations. Meanwhile, QC1 comes with a fixed battery setup.

While the Honda QC 1 has been specifically developed for India, the Honda Activa e has been developed for India and other emerging markets.
