The family of fallen Hinds County deputy Martin Shields has announced the funeral arrangments for the late deputy.

Shields, 37, was killed in the line of duty Sunday, Feb. 23, while responding to a domestic disturbance call in Terry. According to Sheriff Tyree Jones, Shields and another deputy got into a shootout with a suspect on Midway Road. Shields was killed. The other deputy was not injured.
