A five-alarm fire broke out early Friday morning in the Bronx, leaving seven people hurt and more than 200 others displaced.Firefighters responded around 1:45 a.m. to a six-story apartment building at 2910 Wallace Avenue in the Allerton section of the borough.

Multiple people were injured and hundreds displaced after a fire tore through an apartment building in the Bronx, N.Y., early Friday morning, Jan. 10. In a statement shared by New York Fire Department chief John Esposito, the department reported “seven minor injuries, five to firefighters and two to civilians” from the fire on Wallace Avenue.

The five-alarm blaze broke out around 2 a.m. at the Wallace Avenue apartment building in the Allerton section of the Bronx. The fire, which originated on the top floor of the 200-foot wide building, was fueled by gusty winds reaching up to 45 mph.
