The Jacksonville Jaguars should shut down quarterback Trevor Lawrence for the rest of the season. It's the smart thing to do, especially with the 2-10 Jaguars all but eliminated from playoff contention headed into Sunday’s game at 3-9 Tennessee.

Lawrence was ruled out with a head injury. Al-Shaair was ejected and pelted with objects thrown from the stands in Jacksonville as he left the field. The Jaguars officially secured their 11th losing campaign in the last 14 seasons after Sunday’s blowout loss.

Houston Texans coach DeMeco Ryans said Monday that he stood behind Azeez Al-Shaair after his linebacker was ejected and widely criticized for hitting Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence in the head in Sunday’s win.
