Salman Rehman Khan allegedly facilitated the supply of arms, ammunition, and explosives for terrorist activities in Bengaluru

Salman Rehman Khan, a terrorist belonging to the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), was extradited from Rwanda by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) today (28 November).

Rwanda extradited to India on Thursday a member of Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) facing an Interpol Red Notice in an operation coordinated by the NIA and the CBI, officials said here.

The NIA registered the Bengaluru Prisons Terror Conspiracy case on October 25 last year, taking over from Bengaluru City Police. Salman, who had been declared a fugitive, was charged under the stringent UAPA, the Arms Act, and the Explosive Substances Act.

Salman Rehman Khan, an alleged member of the internationally proscribed terrorist organisation, had assisted in providing arms, ammunition and explosives to further terrorist activities in Bengaluru.

The CBI has secured the extradition of more than 100 criminals since 2021, including three in November 2024 alone

Operation was carried out in coordination with Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB), Interpol, and National Central Bureaus (NCBs), and marks a breakthrough in agency's efforts to combat global terrorism

Rwanda on Wednesday extradited Salman Khan, whom the Indian government accuses of having links to a terrorist organisation. The suspect was arrested on September 9 in Rwanda, following an August 2 Interpol red notice issued by India.

He is the 17th accused to be extradited and deported in major NIA cases since 2020. Khan is charged with criminal conspiracy, membership in a terrorist organization, and providing material support to the Pakistan-based LeT.
