The family of a man who died after going missing during Storm Bert has said he will continue to be "truly loved every day". Bryan Perry, 75, had been walking with his wife and dog when he went missing in the River Conwy near Trefriw, Conwy county, on Saturday.

At least five people were killed as Storm Bert battered Britain with 80 mph winds and torrential rain, causing widespread flooding, cutting power to homes and businesses and wreaking road, rail and air travel chaos.

The UK has been battered by Storm Bert and more flooding is likely over the next few days, according to the environment secretary. Steve Reed chaired a meeting with the Environment Agency today to discuss plans to protect communities from further flood damage.

Storm Bert has continued to cause “devastation” across the UK this morning as commuters were urged not to travel. At least four people have died over the weekend as roads turned to rivers and winds of up to 82mph swept through the country.
