Delaware and Jersey Shore beaches were closed to swimmers on Tuesday, Aug. 19, with Hurricane Erin carrying life-threatening rip currents as the storm's path tracks near the East Coast.

Life-threatening rip curents are expected from Florida to Canada, along with large breaking waves and dangerous surf conditions.

The latest forecast track suggests the fifth named storm of 2025 in the Atlantic will turn more to the northwest soon and track near or north of the Leeward Islands as well as Puerto Rico.
