Former UTEP football coach Dana Dimel died in his sleep at the age of 62, his family announced. Dimel was the 26th head coach at UTEP from his hiring in 2018 until his dismissal in 2023. He was the senior offensive assistant at Illinois this past season. He is survived by his wife, Julie, and children, Winston and Josey.
