Earlier this week, WB Games announced that it had scrapped its solo Wonder Woman game and closed down its studio Monolith Productions for good, alongside MultiVersus developer Player First and WB Games San Diego in a move the publisher called a "strategic change in direction."

Monolith's Wonder Woman game was reportedly cancelled, in part, due to the massive failure of games like Suicide Squad and Multiversus.

Here's the thing that many are overlooking, though: without Warner Bros. haemorrhaging money through titles like Suicide Squad and MultiVersus — which was recently confirmed to be going offline in May — over the last fiscal year or so, these blanket layoffs and cancellations may not have been so drastic.
