Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick's proposal to change the name of the classic New York strip steak to the "Texas strip" has continued to spark controversy since he announced it in late February. Now, Dallas-based steakhouse chain Bob's Steak and Chop House is jumping in with their own patriotic twist on the classic surf and turf.

Dan Patrick took to X Tuesday evening to tout the first-ever "Texas Strip" served with "Gulf of America shrimp," a move which one New York steakhouse owner said he'll be taking the state to court over.

A restaurant owner is suing the state after Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said he wants to rename the "New York Strip" to the "Texas Strip."
