A firefighter was injured after coming into contact with a live power line that fell on him while he was battling a North Sacramento structure fire on Monday afternoon.

Local firefighters extinguished two separate house fires Tuesday that broke out less than an hour apart, officials said.

The blaze erupted around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and tore through more than 1,007 acres, forcing nearby residents to evacuate as flames came within feet of some homes, ABC7 reported.
