Storm Chandra made landfall in Ireland early yesterday morning and brought with it strong winds and heavy rain, leading to widespread disruption across many parts of the country.

Met Éireann has warned that more flooding is possible as it issued a status yellow rain warning for Carlow, Dublin, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, and Waterford.

Minister for Housing and Local Government James Browne said that information should not be “guarded” and he had asked Met Eireann to look at how they assess what level of weather warning is warranted.
