In a historic showing, Texas QB Arch Manning recorded six touchdowns to carry the Longhorns past the Razorbacks.
Arch Manning threw four touchdown passes, ran it in from three yards out and even hauled in a 4-yard score as Texas recorded a 52-37 win over Arkansas at Royal-Memorial Stadium on Saturday.
Manning threw 30 yards to Emmett Mosley on the first play of the second half and 35 yards to Jack Endries on the third play. His 3-yard touchdown run came one play after running back CJ Baxter mishandled a direct snap on first-and-goal from the 2.
It's not a playoff elimination game for the Longhorns since there's another titanic matchup this month with unbeaten and third-ranked Texas A&M on the horizon, but a victory over the Bulldogs would break the program's big-game curse under Steve Sarkisian and provide Texas with its third top-15 win of the season.
Arch Manning and the No. 17 Longhorns host Arkansas. Here are predictions of the American-Statesman reporters.
Texas football head coach Steve Sarkisian completely shut down the rumors that he would leave for the NFL after this season.
Unfortunately for the Longhorns, they will be without one of their most significant defensive pieces, Anthony Hill Jr., who is officially listed as OUT according to the final SEC availability report. Hill is the only player who made the injury report, while the Razorbacks will be missing more than 10 players for the contest.
Sarkisian emphatically denied rumors that he might leave the Longhorns at the end of the season, seemingly in response to a video released this week by ESPN personality and former Heisman Trophy winner Desmond Howard that suggested Sarkisian and Texas could mutually part ways.
