Ice fishers in metro Detroit soak up the final days of ice time as local authorities warn ice is beginning to melt.

Firefighters say the driver became trapped on a wooded peninsula after their snowmobile fell through the ice.

ESCANABA, MI— Two people were rescued from the ice on Big Bay de Noc Sunday. Delta County Sheriff’s deputies and Ice Rescue personnel were dispatched around 10:30 a.m. to an area near Round Island.
