The Springs Fire in Moreno Valley was nearly completely contained the morning of Sunday, April 5. Cal Fire reported the 4,176-acre blaze to be 95% contained in an updated posted Sunday morning.
Strong winds fueled the explosion of the Springs Fire in Southern California, with evacuations ordered and thousands of acres already scorched.
Smoke from the blaze is visible across Riverside, Perris and Beaumont.
Southern California firefighters are battling two major wildfires, the Springs Fire and the Crown Fire, which are spreading rapidly under dangerously dry and windy conditions.
