Houston Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans knows he has an elite talent in quarterback C.J. Stroud. He showed it in his Offensive Rookie of the Year season and at times in Year Two. That’s why one of Ryans’ top priorities for the 2025 offseason is to give Stroud more opportunity to use that talent by way of an improved blocking unit.

“Getting better protection for C.J. is definitely a main point of emphasis for us,” Texans coach DeMeco Ryans said Tuesday at the NFL Combine. “We know when C.J. is protected (and) he has a clean pocket, he’s a pretty good quarterback.”
