An additional 6-12 inches of snow is possible in more persistent lake effect snow bands across the Southern Tier especially on the Chautauqua Escarpment by Tuesday evening. Little or no additional accumulation is expected across the Buffalo-Niagara Falls metro.

Lake-effect snow has been ongoing for several days, bringing us some occasional accumulations locally, with most of the snow piling up on the west side of the state. Later tonight, we will be watching the Thumb for the possibility of some locally heavier snow showers which could bring some slippery areas overnight and in the morning.
