John Kuklis, a clerk at the Horseshoe Curve Lodge in Altoona, Pa., told ABC News that Mangione, who never pulled his mask down or identified himself at the hotel, was turned away because there were no clean rooms available.

On Thursday, the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections released an image of a cell “similar to” Mangione’s cell. Officials said the photo of an empty 15-by-6-foot prison cell shares a concrete wall with Mangione’s cell. It features a desk and stool; sink attached to a toilet; and an elevated concrete bed with a pad atop it.
