Ubisoft has issued a statement that addresses the Assassin's Creed leak, apologizing to its fans on behalf of the hackers.

After story details and gameplay footage from video game Assassin's Creed Shadows leaked, French video game giant Ubisoft has stressed the materials "do not represent the final quality of the game" and has emphasised "the development team is still working on patches to prepare the experience for launch".

The game publisher's next big release in the Assassin's Creed franchise has been leaked online after some gamers got their hands on the game early.
