Justin Sourdif scored his first NHL goal and the Florida Panthers beat the Nashville Predators 4-1. Sam Bennett had a goal, assist and fight for a Gordie Howe hat trick, and Gustav Forsling and Mackie Samoskevich also scored to help the Panthers win for the third time in four games.

Samoskevich scored a goal and added two hits in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Predators. Samoskevich has two goals over three outings in February, though he's missed time due to an illness and an upper-body injury.

The Florida Panthers got a big boost from three members of the 2023-24 Charlotte Checkers on Tuesday night. Spencer Knight, Mackie Samoskevich, and Justin Sourdif were all teammates for Florida’s AHL team last year — and all played a huge role in a 4-1 NHL win at Nashville on Tuesday night.

Florida wasted no time opening the scoring. On the power play, a severe defensive breakdown by the Predators left Sam Reinhart and Bennett alone in front of the Predators’ Juuse Saros (21 saves); Reinhart dropped the puck for Bennett to easily bury 1:23 into the contest.

Michael McCarron scored for the Predators (20-30-7), who have lost two in a row after winning their previous two. Juuse Saros made 21 saves. Predators defenseman Roman Josi was boarded by Bennett in the second period. He did not play in the third period.
