It looks like Footprint Center’s current moniker is getting the boot after just four years. That’s because the 17,071-seat arena in downtown Phoenix is reportedly undergoing another name change. Work crews were seen removing Footprint Center signage from the venue — the longtime home of the Phoenix Suns and Mercury — on Sunday and Monday.
The Phoenix Suns have begun the process to find a new naming rights partner for the arena at Jefferson and 2nd Streets.
As we reported earlier this week, Footprint Center is getting a brand-new name. Player 15 Group (who own both the Phoenix Suns and Mercury) are set to reveal the new naming rights deal some time next year.
