Many people who don’t normally get to experience snow found unique ways to enjoy the rare sight this week as a historic winter storm moved across the South.

NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center is maintaining a Level 1 out of 5 risk for parts of south and east Alabama on Friday.

This is the moment residents in Baldwin County, Alabama woke up to find Orange Beach blanketed in snow on January 21. Winter Storm Enzo dropped a record 10 inches of snow in some areas as temperatures plunged to 4°F in the region.

On Thursday at 4:27 a.m. an updated rip current statement was issued by the National Weather Service valid from 6 p.m. until Saturday 6 a.m. for Mobile and Baldwin counties.
