Al Golden may be off to the NFL but sure sounds like someone who will always be a part of the Notre Dame family.

Dom Spalding, who's assisted most recently at Big Ten program Northwestern and previously logged multiple seasons at Youngstown State, is joining Freeman's Notre Dame program as an offensive analyst, multiple sources tell FootballScoop. He'll specifically work with the Irish's wide receivers corps.

One of college football 's most prestigious coaching awards, the Broyles Award, was given to former Notre Dame defensive coordinator Al Golden late Thursday night. Golden joins Bob Diaco in 2012 as the only Notre Dame coaches to win the award given to the best assistant coach in college football.
