DAMASCUS (Reuters) - Israel carried out an air strike on the Syrian capital Damascus on Thursday, targeting what the military said was a command centre belonging to the Palestinian militant group Islamic Jihad, used to direct 'terrorist activities' against Israel.

Israel claimed on Thursday that its warplanes struck a building of the Palestinian group Islamic Jihad in the Syrian capital Damascus. A military statement said the strike was based on intelligence, calling the targeted building a “command center” for the group.
