Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving is among various notable players who support introducing a one-on-one tournament at the NBA All-Star weekend. Irving discussed the potential for such a competition and expressed his enthusiasm during an interview with Rachel Nichols on "Open Run" in San Francisco.

There are three nights of on-court events, highlighted by the Rising Stars competition for first- and second-year players on Friday, the dunk and 3-point contest on Saturday and the All-Star Game on Sunday, which has a new format this year.

Victor Wembanyama has already gone up against the U.S. in international events, most notably last year’s Paris Olympics when he led France’s march to the gold medal game against the Americans.
