New York Islanders head coach Patrick Roy is scratching veteran defenseman Scott Mayfield against the New York Rangers on Tuesday night.

Defenseman Adam Boqvist is drawing back into the New York Islanders lineup on Tuesday night, returning after sitting out Sunday’s game as a healthy scratch. Scott Mayfield will come out of the lineup in a corresponding move.

The Rangers (28-25-4) are 11th in the Eastern Conference, three points up on the 12th-place Islanders (25-24-7), who have a game in hand. The Rangers are also two points out of the second wild card, which is held by the Ottawa Senators, who do not play again until Wednesday.

On Tuesday night, New York Islanders defenseman Adam Boqvist will replace Scott Mayfield on the backend, with the veteran blueliner serving as a healthy scratch.
