Crews have finished recovering the wreckage of a plane and helicopter that collided mid-air, killing 67 people.

The crash occurred around 9 p.m. before search and rescue efforts began in the nearby Potomac River for the 60 passengers and four crew members from the plane and three soldiers from the helicopter.

While driving home, Ari Shulman said a "spray of sparks" in the sky caught his attention as he watched in horror the midair collision unfold.
