The Utah chapter of Planned Parenthood is suing over a provision in the "Big Beautiful Bill" preventing nonprofits that provide elective abortions from being reimbursed for providing reproductive care to Medicaid patients.

Planned Parenthood said it intends to sue the Trump administration over the recently passed “big, beautiful bill” that would “defund” the nonprofit health clinic. Republicans’ massive tax and spending bill includes a provision that would prohibit Medicaid funds from being used to reimburse health clinics that provide elective abortions.
