Light of Life Rescue Mission on Pittsburgh's North Side is preparing to serve more than 1,000 meals to those in need this Thanksgiving. This is the 72nd year of providing Thanksgiving meals to those experiencing homelessness or food insecurity.

The Drumstick Dash is a Roanoke staple and is back for another run on Thursday. The race is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Roanoke Rescue Mission, bringing in several hundred thousand dollars each year that helps the organization feed and shelter hundreds each day.

The shelter will provide food, a collar, a leash and a toy. They can also assist with a crate or bed. Unity of Faith Baptist Church gave away more than 125 plates for free to residents and people in the community.
