Just two days after the deadly shooting at UPMC Memorial Hospital, Governor Josh Shapiro once again spoke to the public.

There’s little sympathy to be had for Diogenes Archangel-Ortiz after he used a handgun and zip ties to put a York County hospital under siege Saturday, killing a police officer and wounding several other officers and staff in a hostage situation.

UPMC announced this morning via a Facebook post that it has closed Memorial Hospital in West Manchester Township to visitors in the wake of a hostage incident Saturday that left one police officer dead, two injured and several staff members injured. The health care system did not say when visitors to patients would once again be welcome.
