The White House on Thursday released an article outlining Smithsonian exhibitions and materials it considers “woke” or anti-American.

It's not about whitewashing, it's all about full context, so while slavery is obviously a horrible aspect of our nation's history, you can't really talk about slavery honestly unless you also talk about hope and progress.

The White House's 26-point bulleted memo includes Amy Sherald's painting of a transgender woman, artworks that humanize immigrants, and an animation of Anthony Fauci.

Special Assistant to the President Lindsey Halligan said the Smithsonian museums had become "laboratories for political experiments."

President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he has ordered his attorneys to conduct a review of Smithsonian museums, calling their portrayal of U.S. history too negative and focused too much on “how bad Slavery was.
