The big question on everyone's mind is, 'Who will be Maharashtra's next Chief Minister?' While the Shiv Sena rallies behind Eknath Shinde for the CM's post, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) remains steadfast in supporting Devendra Fadnavis.

Eknath Shinde on Wednesday dropped enough hints to suggest the return of BJP chief minister in Maharashtra as he announced that his party Shiv Sena will support any candidate decided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah as the next leader of the Mahayuti.

BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis and Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde are the top contenders for the chief ministers’ post in Maharashtra. However, speculation are rife that Fadnavis will take over as the next CM.

The uncertainty surrounding the selection of Shinde's successor remains, as coalition leaders have yet to reach a consensus on the candidate.
