Florida can't enforce a controversial new law targeting undocumented immigrants entering Florida, the Supreme Court said on July 9.

The Supreme Court appeal arose from a challenge to Florida’s enforcement of a new law targeting undocumented migrants.

Under the law, known as SB 4-C, anyone who “knowingly enters or attempts to enter [Florida] after entering the United States by eluding or avoiding examination or inspection by immigration officers” can be convicted of a first degree misdemeanor.
