Google is testing an upgraded translation functionality with real-time text conversion in an upcoming feature.

While Apple struggles to bring us the fully upgraded Siri we were promised — wait until 2026! — Samsung just got the jump on Apple with a pair of $149 earbuds that feature Gemini and live translation integration. Even worse for Apple, it's at a price that beats out the ANC-equipped AirPods 4, rather than the flagship AirPods Pro 2.

Currently, Live Translation in FaceTime is only available in English, French, German, Brazilian Portuguese, and Spanish. More languages are rumored to be coming later this year. During Apple's mid-September event, the company might reveal that in-person Live Translation support for AirPods is coming exclusively to the iPhone 17.

To add live translation in PowerPoint, go to the Slide Show tab, click Subtitle Settings, and select your spoken and subtitle languages. Choose a microphone, and adjust subtitle placement.

Available as another option within Circle to Search, Live Translation boots up within Google's screen recording feature, as you can see from Android Authority's screenshots. By essentially watching over your screen, it can translate as it goes, making it far more useful when translating ongoing conversations, videos, or other media.
