The National Weather Service has extended Lake Effect Snow warnings into Tuesday, with pockets of heavier snow at times, as areas of lake effect snow and snow showers continue Monday, Monday night, and Tuesday.

Lake effect snow is forecast to wallop the already snow-buried Great Lakes region, while much of the continental U.S. will experience below-freezing temperatures over the next few days.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued winter storm warnings and advisories across seven states: Michigan, Indiana, Alaska, Tennessee, New York, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Blowing snowfall, hazardous travel conditions and reduced visibility are expected in many areas.
