The poster child of Wall Street's artificial intelligence craze reported better-than-expected results amid rising investor uncertainty about the the economics of AI.

In its fourth fiscal quarter ending last month, Nvidia reported $39.3 billion in revenue, $0.89 adjusted earnings per share and $22.1 billion of net income, equating to year-over-year revenue growth of 78% and profit growth of 71%.

Nvidia’s total market value as of the close Wednesday, before the release of its earnings report. That’s second in the S&P 500 behind Apple ($3.611 trillion). Microsoft is third with a market value just below $3 trillion ($2.972 trillion). Two years ago, Nvidia’s market value was below $600 billion.
