I would check the portal and make 100% sure you submitted EVERY scrap of document they want for your application - if you are missing even one thing then you will just get a letter saying you have to submit the missing info and go through the whole waiting process again.

Governmental resources in Florida have been dismantled and intentionally made more difficult to obtain. What services remain are centralized in Tallahassee to facilitate management by private companies for profit, and not for better service.

#1 on the list is New Jersey that offers pre-k for 3 and 4 year olds. Florida offers to pay for half a day for 4 year olds. Maybe fewer high schoolers take SAT and ACT in Florida, which would inflate the scores. For instance if only the highest 1/3 take college entrance tests, those scores would be higher than if all the students took the test.
