On June 28th, 2005, a small team of U.S. Navy #SEALs were on mission in the Kunar Province of Afghanistan. Their mission was compromised, and they were engaged by a large force of enemy insurgents who pinned them down for an extended period resulting in the death of three of the four team members. A rescue helicopter carrying eight additional SEALs and eight U.S. Army/U.S. Army Special Operations Command #NightStalkers was subsequently shot down, making Operation Red Wings one of the darkest day
