I love a good shrew! Shrews are iconic insectivorous mammals that can be found all over the world! Many species also possess a mild venom in their saliva which helps them to take down prey quickly and efficiently. Shrews have a rapid metabolism and have to feed regularly or they risk starving to death in mere hours. While it might seem a little dramatic, this is my reaction any time I do in fact see a shrew!
