On December 26, 1988 Starrcade: True Gritt took place from the Norfolk Scope in Norfolk, Virginia. It was the 6th annual Starrcade pay-per-view event produced under the NATIONAL WRESTLING ALLIANCE (NWA) banner and was the first Starrcade event produced by World Championship Wrestling (WCW). On August 28, 1994 WCW Clash of the Champions XXVIII took place at the Five Seasons Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In the main event, The Nature Boy Ric Flair (with Sensuous Sherri) took on Hulk Hogan (with “The Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart) in a match for Hogan’s WCW World Heavyweight Championship.
