33 years ago, Hurricane Andrew, one of the most powerful storms on record, made landfall in Miami-Dade County as a Category 5 storm, wreaking death and destruction in its path before continuing on to Louisiana. Air Station Miami was one of the first to respond to the devastation in Homestead, aiding our neighbors in any way we could.
