When Wales got it's flag! Although the flag of Wales didn't become the flag of Wales until 1959, the Red Dragon had been a symbol of Wales since Roman times, and was brought to Wales by the Romans when they created the Kingdom of Britannia in 50 AD. The red dragon symbol found it's way on to the current background in the 1400's when the Welshman Henry Tudor placed the red dragon on to his Tudor house colours of green and white.
