Braiding onions (and shallots!) is my favorite way to tuck them away into storage for the winter 💫. It’s really quite simple once you get the hang of it! The key is using onions that are just the right age. 🧅After they’ve cured for 1-2 weeks is the perfect time for me. 🧅 If the greens are too dried out and brittle, they often snap off when trying to braid them. 🧅 If braided too soon after harvesting, the greens are too thick and less pliable.
